Tea

An rp thread that ended much too abruptly :( - edited to be paragraphs

Standing outside of the tea house, Jinjoo took a steeling breath while her dark eyes remained trained on the quickly fading note scrawled in, what she now realized was, water soluble ink on her left palm.

Buy Mingun's tea

Jinjoo had been building herself up to the task for the better part of a week, while craving the subtly fruity, aromatic brew for even longer. It might seem silly to anyone that she told, so the young widow was almost glad for the fact that she didn't have many close friends to lament to—a fact that was sad in and of itself.

Another anxious exhale, because she didn't know how she'd react, and Jinjoo made her way into the storefront. She put on her friendliest, most not-two-seconds-from-an-anxiety-attack smile for the greeter and asked to be pointed in the right direction, already knowing that she'd be overwhelmed between the myriad of choices and the sensory overload that the various colors and intermingling scents afforded.

Her mind was set on her mission, giving Jinjoo a degree of tunnel vision that blocked out any and everyone else milling about the museum and tea shop. She made her way to the quieter corner that she was pointed to and scanned the rows and rows of loose teas until her eyes finally caught the familiar name and packaging on a much too high shelf. The last one. Any discouragement only lasted for a beat because she was here and she knew it'd be a fight to come back and try again. Bracing with a hand on a lower shelf, she did her best to stretch and reach, only to bump into someone having a much easier time with the task.

The man, so focused on his own mission, misplaced his foot and accidentally knocked into her.

"Oh—" the surprised exclamation left her before she realized it and she took a couple of stuttered steps to the side to prevent an actual fall after being thrown off of her already flimsy balance. The stranger immediately stepped back with an apology, the last bag of Mingun's tea in his hand.

“Oh god— I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to bump into you, ma’am.”

At the same time as he did, she bowed her head apologetically.

"No, it's fine! I, I wasn't looking either," she replied, briefly crouching to pick up the couple of bags she knocked over in her stumbling.
